<p>We are very excited to welcome Ashley &#8220;Spyder&#8221; Holland of <a href="http://stormfreerunlondon.com/#/team">Storm Free Run</a> to Locker 27 to run an evening of Free Running.</p>
<p>On Wednesday 29th May 2013 Spyder will teach free running skills in three sessions at Locker 27;</p>
<ul>
<li>5-6pm Junior session 6-10 year olds &#8211; £15</li>
<li>6-8pm Junior session 11-15 year olds &#8211; £20</li>
<li>8-10pm Adult session 16 years plus &#8211; £25</li>
</ul>
<p>These sessions will be practical, fun and rewarding. Come see what feats the body can do!</p>

<p><b>Ashley &#8220;Spyder&#8221; Holland</b> was born and raised in Orpington, Kent. From birth he had complications that led to being in and out of a wheelchair up until the age of 12, spending half of his youth in a hospital bed dreaming of playing sports and being active. Obviously at this point it was impossible so he turned his attention towards comic books, namely ‘Spiderman’. When Ashley turned 12, he could no longer hold in the urge for an active life and using his body so declined further treatment and against the doctors’ expectations became a fit and a very healthy young man. After trying most sports, nothing could satisfy until early 2000 when he created his own form of training, combining a youthful head of Spiderman,Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan which filled the void perfectly. After seeing a television advert with David Belle jumping across and climbing the city with ease, he learnt the name of what he was doing and began teaching himself.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Locker 27 is pleased to announce the addition of Jennifer Wilson to our team as a Sports Therapist. Jenni is a trained Sports Therapist and rehabilitation specialist. As well as working clinically, she lectures on the Sport Science degree programmes for the University of Surrey. Her background is in injury rehabilitation but she also specialises in myofascial therapy, soft tissue release and sports massage. Jenni is also a competitive weightlifter and some of you may have seen her shifting some heavy weights in our Hybrid sessions.</p>

We are delighted to announce that Locker 27 Athletic Development will be hosting an Olympic Lifting workshop with EIS Strength and Conditioning Coach, Shaun Joffe. The workshop will be held on consecutive Saturdays in April, 13th and 20th, and will consist of 3 hour sessions, 12:30-3:30pm each day.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">This workshop is open to lifters, coaches, personal trainers, avid trainers or anybody wishing to develop and learn about Olympic Lifting and the derivatives. This will be a practical lifting workshop with a chance to gain feedback and instruction, as well as develop ideas and discussion with like minded individuals.</p>

<h4>shaun joffe</h4>
<p>Shaun is a member of the S&amp;C team at the <a title="EIS" href="http://www.eis2win.co.uk/Pages/Strength_and_Conditioning.aspx">English Institute of Sport</a> and has worked with a number of international athletes and teams, including the GB hockey team in the building up to London 2012. Shaun is also an olympic lifting competitor, and regularly competes on the UK scene. See him in action at the Northern Weightlifting Championships</p>

<p>This means we will be fully open for members and drop in gym use;</p>
<ul>
<li>Friday 8am-7pm</li>
<li>Saturday 8am-12pm</li>
<li>Monday 8am-9pm</li>
</ul>
<p>Our normal class timetable will run, with the exception being it is our <a href="http://www.locker27.com/blog/hill-session/">Hill Running Session</a> on Saturday Morning;</p>
<ul>
<li>Friday 6pm &#8211; Hybrid</li>
<li>Saturday 11am &#8211; <a href="http://www.locker27.com/blog/hill-session/">Hill session at Newlands Corner</a></li>
<li>Monday 8pm &#8211; Hybrid</li>

<p>For the Juniors we have our usual academy sessions running, which continue to run over the entire Easter holidays;</p>

<li>Saturday &#8211; 9am</li>

<p>We are running a <a href="http://www.locker27.com/blog/easter2013/">LTAD Junior course</a> next week 2-5th April 2013 from 10:30-12 each day for any friends and newcomers to Locker 27 who wish to join our academy. 		<description><![CDATA[Easter LTAD Courses at Locker 27.  25th-28th March and 2nd-5th April, 10:30am-12pm]]></description>
				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In the Easter holidays  we are running our 19th and 20th <a href="http://www.locker27.com/academy/">Long Term Athletic Development</a> (LTAD) courses at Locker 27. Our course is for boys and girls aged 9-16 years old. Our LTAD courses have now been completed by over 100 graduates who are now members of our <a href="http://www.locker27.com/academy/">Locker 27 Academy</a>. Completion of this course allows you to attend our on-going programme of Academy sessions.</p>
<p>The LTAD Course is designed to introduce you to our athletic development pathway and aims to help improve your sports and athletic ability. The 6 session course will consist of</p>
<ul>
<li>The Athletic Position<img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-2012" alt="girl_lifting" src="http://www.locker27.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/girl_lifting-300x181.jpg" width="300" height="181" /></li>
<li>Linear and lateral movement skills</li>
<li>Postural awareness</li>
<li>Learn fundamental movements</li>
<li>Learn basic lifting techniques</li>
<li>An introduction into how to train for sport</li>
<li>Games</li>
<li>Performance testing</li>
<li>and much more</li>
</ul>
<p>We have two time options this coming Easter.</p>
<ul>
<li>Monday 25th to Thursday 28th March 2013</li>
</ul>
<p>or</p>
<ul>
<li>Tuesday 2nd to Friday 5th April 2013</li>
</ul>
<p>The courses will consist of 4 sessions each 90 minutes long from 10:30am to 12 pm.</p>
<p>Course costs £100.</p>
<p>There is a 10% sibling discount.</p>
<p>The course is open to anybody, however sporting. Whether to help improve your sporting potential or to improve your overall physical development this course has been recognised <a href="http://www.locker27.com/gallery/uksem-hrh-princess-anne/">nationally</a> and seen on the <a href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-15815713">BBC</a>.</p>

<h4>john downey</h4>
<p>Having being involved in rugby from a young age to an elite standard, interest in <img class="alignright size-full wp-image-2002" alt="John_Downey2" src="http://www.locker27.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/John_Downey2.png" width="227" height="147" /> nutrition and exercise came with the territory. But my passion for the science behind the sweat and pain also grew, which led me to undertake a degree in Nutrition with Sport Science, and I am now in the process of completing an MSc in Preventive Cardiology. I have a real thirst for using diet as a tool to help people reach their goals and am currently the Performance Nutritionist for Harlequins Rugby Elite Player Development Group.  Having played international rugby at underage and in the championship in England, has led me to encounter many different expert opinions and experiences. I feel my past gives me a unique blend of practical, and research based knowledge. I comfortable in all aspects of the health industry/sporting world, and have helped individuals with goals ranging from gastric issues to elite sports performance.</p>
