Stretch and Restore Coach and Weightlifting Coach
Having been a member at Locker 27 for almost ten years, Niamh has joined the coaching and reception team. Niamh has a background in rowing and olympic weightlifting, competing at a high level in both sports. She now has BWL (British Weightlifting) Level One and Two, qualifications to coach others in the sport and also leads weightlifting sessions at Locker. Following a stress related illness Niamh turned to the practice of Yoga in a bid to support a more holistic approach to her recovery and after 5 years of practice decided to qualify as a 200 hour RYT specialising in vinyasa and hatha yoga. Niamh appreciates that the human anatomy is complex and differs between individuals, a perspective she brings when leading sessions in both yoga and weightlifting.
Niamh has worked at several yoga studios as well as Surrey University , helping to implement Yoga in the lives of others. She recognises that mobility and joint capacity is key for reducing injury and allowing others to train at the best of their ability. Niamh is constantly looking to improve her teaching d further her knowledge and is currently studying to become a breathwork facilitator.
